Gathering Blue

Gathering Blue - Lois Lowry Take your pride in your pain. You are stronger than those who have none.

Before reading Gathering Blue, I was expecting a continuation where [b:The Giver|6240223|Give Up the Ghost|Megan Crewe|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1406075063s/6240223.jpg|6422989] left the readers hanging, about what happened to Jonas and the baby. However, it doesn't gave me any signs of Jonas and Gabriel thus introducing us to the limp world of Kira(who obviously is a new character for us) and the rest of the community that surrounds her.

Gathering Blue is a way more different from other dystopian stories in a sense that you could see the discrimination to disabled individuals. There were also rankings in accordance to the number of syllable of the name. Very different from the first book right? And this attack Lois gave in her writing to the sequel makes you think that book 2 is a whole lot different story than the Giver. But for me, if there's something that connects the Giver and Gathering blue, it's the essence of COLORS. And this is one factor that keeps my interest in looking forward to read the following books. I'm curious on where this quartet series will lead us. And where will the colors take the community.

P.S. The Giver and Gathering blue are both cliffhangers!!!! HAHAHA. Why you'd have to do that dear author [a:Lois Lowry|2493|Lois Lowry|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1348162077p2/2493.jpg]. HAHAHA. I just can't take that.

So yeah. looking forward to the the next ☺
